How it all started:
The Grun family has been in the ranching industry for over 6 generations in southern Taylor County in Texas. When covid struck, they saw the opportunity to supply those in need with quality, affordable beef and branched out into the meat processing and retail side of the industry.
One day while processing beef, Dusty received a call from a friend wanting to bring a group to tour the meat plant. Through Gods divine timing and appointment, the Grun family were introduced to a group of men from Ghana.
After many hours of discussion, plane tickets were bought, and Meat the Need ministry began.
Expanding the Vision:
Through much prayer and seeking Gods will for the ministry, Dusty has been able to travel and see first-hand the needs for the people of West Central Africa.
When the majority of the money that you earn goes to feeding your family, many needs go unmet.
Enabling people to raise more resources and produce better products to not only feed themselves but also raise more food to share with others at a price they can afford. Improving upon common agriculture practices and educating is a main goal.
